Bronwyn Clarke Ceramics was established at Deep Bay, Tasmania in 2016. Bronwyn has a passion for welcoming visitors to her studio and loves telling the backstories to the diverse selection of work she has made since moving to Tasmania.
Formally trained as a Secondary School Art Teacher, through the National Art School, Sydney, Bronwyn became a Professional Potter/Educator spanning 25 years.
Bronwyn’s throwing is clean and refined. She produces a range of functional tableware and exhibition pieces. Glazes are satin matt, muted, smooth to the touch and gas-fired to 1280 degrees in slight reduction.
Bronwyn uses local Deep Bay ‘wild’ clay sometimes blending it with commercial clays that provide her pots with a special point of difference. Her glaze interplay is inspired by the hues of the Tasmanian landscape adding a delicious dimension to Bronwyn’s individual pieces and connecting them to her special place in Deep Bay.
All of Bronwyn’s work is suitable for use in the oven, microwave and dishwasher.
She welcomes visits to her studio at Deep Bay in the Huon Valley, Tasmania near Cygnet. Bronwyn’s studio is open on the weekends, September through to April and at other times by appointment.
