Red Hill Truffles was established in 2005 with an initial planting of 350 oak and hazelnut trees on a family farm. The first truffle harvest was five years later in 2010. By 2020, there were 2,700 truffle producing trees.
The Perigord (Black) Truffle season runs from June until the end of August.
Red Hill Truffles supplies truffles to Mornington Peninsula restaurants and select restaurants in Melbourne. Fresh truffles and truffle products are also sold directly to the public through an on-site farm gate and a small number of local boutique retail outlets. In partnership with MP Experience, Red Hill Truffles also offers truffle hunts and tastings throughout the season.
The truffle products made by Max Paganoni, Red Hill Estate, include Truffle Butter, Truffle Mushroom Paste, Truffle Aioli, Truffle Honey, Truffle Mustard, and Truffle Salt.
