Plan your next trip to the Fleurieu Peninsula and stay with Family Parks at Second Valley Caravan Park

Second Valley Caravan Park is perched on the spectacular coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula, about an hour and a half from Adelaide. There are plenty of things to see and do near Second Valley, and your hosts, Jo and Brett, will be happy to tell you all about them.

HIT THE BEACH

Second Valley Beach is one of South Australia’s most Instagrammed locations, and it’s not hard to see why. The clear water and calm conditions make it popular for swimming, while those who prefer dry land can stay onshore and enjoy the coastal views.

EXPLORE THE COAST BY KAYAK

Second Valley is also a popular kayaking spot, with plenty of caves and bays to explore. Start from Second Valley Beach and paddle west around the rocks at the edge of the bay, then follow the coast to discover hidden grottos and interesting rock formations. Kayaks and stand up paddle boards can be hired from the Jetty Store at Second Valley Caravan Park.

GO DIVING IN ENCOUNTER MARINE PARK

Second Valley is located next to the Encounter Marine Park, making it a great destination for snorkellers and scuba divers. The marine park is home to a host of aquatic life including the leafy sea dragon and a variety of fish species. Snorkelling gear to suit all skill levels can be purchased at the Jetty Store.

FISH OFF THE JETTY

Keen anglers should head to the Second Valley Jetty to catch squid, whiting, tommies and more. Bait and tackle are available for purchase from the Jetty Store.

EXPLORE THE AREA ON FOOT

Get your shoes on and head out on one of the area’s great walking tracks. One of the most popular is the Mount Hayfield Hike in the Second Valley Forest Reserve. If you’re a history buff you should also check out the Second Valley Heritage Walk to discover the town’s hidden past.

STAY WITH FAMILY PARKS
