Situated 25 minutes east of Hokitika with a 15 minute return walk time you will be wowed by the granite gorge and aqua coloured water that circles below. A short stroll over the swing bridge will see you at the end of the gorge rewarded with views of the drop off cliffs and rimu forest.
Visit The National Kiwi Centre
The National Kiwi Centre offers viewings of New Zealand’s national bird in their nocturnal house that replicates their natural environment. Once you have witnessed these flightless beauties you will also have the opportunity to take part on one of the three times daily eel feedings or view New Zealand’s oldest living dinosaur – the tuatara.
